My pastor has something called Dysphonia Plica Ventricularis. I didn’t know what it was and I like to research maladies so I did so and now I am sharing my findings with you.

Use of false cords (instead of true cords) for speech
Also called: ventricular phonation, false cord phonation
You have false vocal cords and true ones. Your body is overcompensating and using the false cords. Don’t clear your throat! Damaging to vocal cords.
