Umeboshi Plums-Hangover and Jet Lag Cure

Umeboshi Plums are known to be a great hangover and jet-lag cure.  But more importantly its main benefit is to alkaline the body.  We really want our blood to be slightly alkaline.  If the blood is acidic, then harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, fats and mucous grow.  How does our blood can become acidic?  From consuming sugar, refined flour, alcohol, and animal foods

Umeboshi pickled plums are a sweet and sour fruit packed in sea salt and shiso leaves, and aged. This alkaline food helps gastrointestinal distress such as diarrhea, and morning sickness and fatigue. The shiso leaves have medicinal benefit as they fight infection in the body.

Other aliments that they may help:

  • Fatigue
  • Liver toxicity
  • Oxidation of cells
The best way to eat these little buggers is to throw them into a fruit smoothie!  We combine 2 every 3 days into our smoothies and drink them in the morning.   My son loves it!  Takes a while to get used to the taste, but in Ayurveda, we believe that we need all the tastes in our food consumption! Try it!
