The Six Rules of Sprouting

Wellness Wednesday comes with a fun an exciting take to being healthy!  It is inexpensive and something the whole family can do!


The Six Rules of Sprouting:
Rinse Often.
Keep them moist, not wet.
Keep them at room temperature.
Give them plenty of room to breathe.
Don’t put too many in any one container.

Keep them covered–no light.

Alfalfa sprouts lowers cholesterol and stimulates the immune system. It also contains vitamins A, B, C, E and K as well as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and zinc. Sunflower sprouts contain all eight essential amino acids, is high in Lecithin, protein and vitamin D. It also contains a high level of Omega 6 fatty acid. Pea sprouts contain vitamins A, C, E and all the essential amino acids in addition to being high in potassium and fibre.

Eat sprouts raw so that you do not destroy their enzymes and nutrients.
